ARCFOX presented its all-electric medium-sized SUV in China, the αT5, on December 27, 2023. The ARCFOX αT5 brings a new era of electric mobility to the medium-sized SUV sector to meet the needs of young families. αT5 seamlessly integrates safety, space and excellent comfort to deliver a harmoniously balanced vehicle. The charging port of ARCFOX αT5 is placed on the left rear fender and supports both fast and slow charging. It comes with an 800V high-voltage charging platform which can replenish the battery for a 260 km range in just 10 minutes. Every detail has been designed and engineered to provide the good utility required by young families and enhance their enjoyment on every journey. A total of four models were released namely 520 AIR, 520 PRO, 520 MAX and 660 MAX. All models come in two-wheel drive and have a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds. Positioned as a medium-sized SUV, the ARCFOX αT5 measures 4690/1936/1650 mm, and a wheelbase of 2845 mm. These dimensions combine to create a very nice-looking SUV with a smoothly sloped roofline, a sharp front-end, striking sides with minimal body lines and creases, and a rear with a continuous light strip.
Determined to eclipse the accepted aesthetics of the existing medium-sized SUV sector, and create a vehicle with a simple, technical, dynamic, entry luxury presence, ARCFOX drew inspiration for the αT5 from the brand’s acclaimed ‘Towards the Light’ design philosophy. The front face adopts a closed grille design paired with sharp triangular headlights while the rear taillight group matches with a triangular taillight design in the middle of the bottom enclosure. The αT5 runs on either 19-inch or 20-inch black rims, incorporated with red calipers, making it visually sporty. The hidden door handles and a roof spoiler all contribute to the car’s drag coefficient of 0.245Cd. The αT5 exterior color options include a total of three glossy colors and one matte color. The glossy colors are: Extreme Fox White, Extreme Night Black and Vision White, while the matte color is Sea Rock Grey.
The cockpit does not include a driver’s instrument panel – all functional displays are concentrated on the floating 15.6-inch central control screen, which has a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip that can realize voice interaction. The center console adopts a suspended design, supporting 50W wireless charging for mobile phones and two cup holders, while the lower part is hollowed out to retain additional storage space. αT5 has a large panoramic glass roof with a light transmission area of 1.11 square meters, which creates a feeling of spaciousness and offers an expansive view from every seat in the vehicle. There is even a millimeter-wave radar system inside to monitor vital signs in the rear seats of the car for the health and safety of the passengers. The standard trunk volume is 400 liters but can be expanded to 1,546 liters by folding down the rear seats. There are also 21 storage spaces throughout the interior.
