The 2023 Acura Integra returns one of the brand’s most iconic nameplates to the Acura lineup, bringing a premium driving experience and a sleek liftback design to a new generation of enthusiast drivers. A premium sport compact inspired by the fun-to-drive spirit of previous Integras, the all-new Integra is the new performance gateway to the Acura brand delivering class-leading driving dynamics and engaging performance. Acura Integra also is the only 5-door liftback in its class, offering a large and flexible cargo area and superior rear seat legroom with a sleek coupe-like profile and sporty stance. With design and packaging inspired by previous Integras, including the original that helped launch the Acura brand in 1986, the 2023 Integra features an all-new design. The first generation Integra helped launch the Acura brand in 1986 and continued over four-generations, from 1986-2006, offering premium performance and exceptional value. As the first turbocharged Integra from the factory, the new generation adds further momentum to Acura’s Precision Crafted Performance brand direction. Along with a high-output 1.5-liter VTEC turbo engine and sport-tuned chassis, Integra is the only car in its segment with an available manual transmission for an even more exhilarating driving experience.

Integra sets a new benchmark for both active and passive safety technology in the premium compact class. Integra uses the latest version of Acura’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, which has been designed to meet the future NHTSA oblique crash test standard, in addition to achieving top-level scores in current NHTSA and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests. The latest version of Acura’s ACE™ body structure is designed to protect vehicle occupants and improve crash compatibility between vehicles of varying sizes, such as an SUV and a small car, and occupant protection in angled frontal collisions. In a segment first, Integra uses new driver and front passenger airbags specifically designed to reduce head rotation in a collision, especially an oblique collision. The driver’s airbag uses an innovative donut-shaped structure to cradle and hold the head, mitigating rotation and reducing the likelihood of brain injury. On the passenger side, Integra uses technology functionally similar to that pioneered on the 2021 Acura TLX, as well as the fourth-generation MDX. Seatbelt technology includes outer lap belt pretensioners and load limiters on front seatbelts, with a selectable load limiter used on the driver’s side, designed to help prevent chest injuries.

Sporty and personal, Acura Integra’s distinctive driver-focused interior design creates distinct environments for the driver and passenger. Standard features include a 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit™ digital gauge display, and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. A wireless smart phone charger, a head-up display, and a 530-watt 16-speaker ELS STUDIO 3D® premium audio system custom tailored for Integra’s unique listening environment are available. With design and packaging inspired by previous Integras, including the original that helped launch the Acura brand in 1986, Integra’s exterior dimensions follow the timeless adage of long, low, and wide. With a dramatically sloping roofline, the 2023 Acura Integra is a sleek 5-door liftback just like the original Integra, combining a coupe-like profile with a large and easily accessible cargo area.Importantly, Integra also sets a new benchmark for both active and passive safety technology in the premium compact class with Acura’s stiff Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, cutting-edge airbag designs and an updated AcuraWatch™ suite of active safety and driver-assistive technologies. Groundbreaking first-in-segment front airbags for the driver and front passenger are designed to reduce the risk of traumatic brain and neck injuries. Rear seat side airbags are standard. The 2023 Integra is offered in three trim levels: Integra, A-Spec® and A-Spec with Technology Package.

The 2023 Acura Integra is the first-ever factory turbocharged Integra. Under its aluminum hood is a VTEC®-enhanced DOHC 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 200 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque (SAE net). Peak torque occurs from 1800-5000 rpm, providing a quick punch off the line and out of tight corners. At the top of the tach, the engine maintains high output between its 200-hp SAE net power peak at 6000 rpm. The engine’s 133.3 hp per liter is the highest specific output in its competitive segment. A coil-type exhaust system adds an emotional exhaust sound that further enhances Integra’s engaging driving experience. This high-flow exhaust system helps Integra maximize horsepower and provides a satisfying growl under acceleration that doesn’t intrude at lighter throttle applications. The high output small displacement engine features a high-efficiency turbocharger, optimized turbo piping, Variable Timing Control (VTC) on both cams, Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC®) on the exhaust valves and a 4-2 exhaust port/manifold cast into the cylinder head. A rigid crankshaft and oil pan minimize unpleasant vibrations in the 300-600 Hz range. More details on the 1.5-liter turbo are available here.

Unique in its segment, Integra is available with a close-ratio, short throw 6-speed manual transmission with automatic rev matching. With a 430 m/s response time (Sport Mode), the Rev Match system “blips” the throttle when it detects a downshift, quickly and perfectly matching revs every time. And for those who prefer to do it themselves, the feature can be turned off. For an even sportier feel, manual transmission-equipped Integras have an even snappier engine response thanks to an even more aggressive throttle map and a lightweight single-mass flywheel. To maximize available traction when accelerating, the 6-speed routes power to Acura Integra’s front wheels through a helical limited-slip differential. For drivers who prefer to let the car do the shifting, Integra’s standard continuously variable transmission (CVT) is tuned for driving enjoyment. With a short final-drive ratio, the CVT provides excellent response, especially when accelerating from a stop. Under acceleration, Integra’s CVT activates the Step-Shift function. The CVT is programmed to control engine speeds in “steps,” similar to a traditional automatic transmission, giving drivers a familiar linear audible cue for a better sense of acceleration.
