The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro is a mid-size American automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, classified as a pony car It first went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. In fall 2018 (for the 2019 model year), the sixth-generation of the Camaro received a mid-cycle redesign, along with the majority of the Chevrolet car lineup (including the Spark, Cruze and Malibu), in which the front end styling was universally panned. The Camaro shared its platform and major components with the Firebird, produced by Chevy’s sister division Pontiac, also introduced for 1967. Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro; production started on March 16, 2009. The sixth generation of Camaro saw production return to the United States as the fourth and fifth-generation models had been assembled in Canada. Like its predecessor, the sixth generation of the Camaro is available in coupé and convertible bodystyles. Compared to the previous generation, it is 2.3 in (58 mm) shorter, 0.8 in (20 mm) narrower and 1.1 in (28 mm) shorter in height. With similar equipment and engine, it is also more than 200 lb (91 kg) lighter. Over 5 million Camaros have been sold.

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro’s updated designs are not only striking but also help to improve performance. For instance, the grille details and hood and fascia vents were designed for optimized air flow, either to cool components or help minimize drag or lift. Camaro designers follow the mantra that all elements must not only be beautiful but also enhance performance. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of getting behind the wheel of a sports car. And when that car is a 2022 Camaro — from the toned LT to the track-ready ZL1 — that feeling reaches legendary levels thanks to the bold looks, renowned performance and enhanced technology. Legendary performance is why you’re here. The legacy continues with track-inspired strength and capability, including four potent powertrain options, all with Direct Injection:
2.0L Turbo (275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque)
3.6L V6 (335 horsepower and 284 lb.-ft. of torque)
6.2L LT1 V8
6.2L LT4 Supercharged V8 (650 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque)
