The Hyundai Creta, also known as Hyundai ix25, is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 2014 mainly for emerging markets, particularly BRICS. The vehicle was named after the Crete island in Greece. The name is also intended to suggest connections with “creative”. In the Dominican Republic, it was sold as the Hyundai Cantus. It is manufactured by Beijing Hyundai, Hyundai India, Hyundai Brazil, Hyundai Rus, and also assembled by kits in Algeria. The first-generation model debuted as a near-production concept car in China in April 2014. For developed markets like South Korea, the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia, the Creta is not offered to make way for the more advanced Kona.
The 2022 Hyundai Creta has now entered its second generation and was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It’s the king of the D-segment and is offered in 14 variants across three engine and gearbox options. The vehicle gets two boomerang shaped LED DRLs, LED Head Lamps and smartly positioned fog lamps to give the SUV a futuristic look. The Creta is offered with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engine options. The standard petrol motor is a 1.5-litre producing 112bhp/144Nm and can be had with a CVT or a six-speed manual. The more exciting petrol motor is a 1.4-litre Turbo GDi unit producing 138bhp/242Nm and is only being offered with a seven-speed DCT. The sole diesel on offer is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit producing 113bhp/250Nm and can be had with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The 2022 Hyundai Creta delivers a power packed performance on every terrain. The 1.5 l BS6 compliant Diesel engine is extremely robust and delivers 115 ps at 4 000 rpm while peak torque measures 25.5 kg.m at 1 500 – 2 750 rpm. 1.4 l Turbo GDi Petrol engine generates power of 140 ps at 6 000 rpm and 24.7 kg.m torque at 1 500 ~ 3 200 rpm. 1.5 l MPi Petrol engine, generates power 115 ps at 6 300 rpm and 14.7 kg.m torque at 4 500 rpm
