Jaguar is marking the 60th anniversary of the E-type sports car in 2021 with the introduction of a new limited-edition 575PS V8 Supercharged F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition. Just 60 examples of these all-wheel drive sports cars will be available for sale worldwide, each one hand-finished by the personalisation experts at SV Bespoke. The E-type 60th anniversary logo embossed on the headrests of the lightweight Performance seats and E-type 60 badging shared with the limited-edition E-type 60 Collection vehicles announced by Jaguar Classic earlier this year. Commemorative treadplates, an SV Bespoke commissioning plaque and Caraway-edged carpet mats provide finishing touches.
In 1961 Jaguar E-type rewrote the rulebook. Mixing high technology, head-turning beauty and refined performance, it has delighted and inspired ever since. The E-Type celebrated its 60th anniversary in March, a milestone Jaguar seized upon to create a special edition in the car’s honour. The F-Type Heritage 60 is based on a top-of-the-range F-Type R but dressed in evocative retro paintwork. A specially curated commemorative specification includes solid Sherwood Green paintwork, an original E-type colour that hasn’t been offered on a new Jaguar since the 1960s, and extended duo-tone Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather interior trim which isn’t normally available on F-TYPE.
A limited run of sixty prized vehicles that proudly pay homage to the hallmarks of their forefather. Each one crafted in painstaking detail by the SV Bespoke team at Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations Technical Centre in the UK.
Jaguar has fitted revised dampers and anti-roll bars to heighten the driving experience in the V8, which is more hairy-chested than the current trend for smaller, turbocharged engines. Consequently, the power delivery is less instant in the F-Type but instead winds up faster and faster and keeps going through eight gears. Based on the stunning 575PS V8 Supercharged AWD ‘R’, F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition features the very best standard features. It shares the same, glorious 5.0-litre, supercharged V8 engine as the F-Type R, producing a heady 567bhp and bags of old-school charm. Such enormous grunt will catapult the roadster to 60mph in 3.5 seconds, racing on to a supercar-like top speed of 186mph.
This F-Type is trading purely on appearance, rarity and the fact the finishing touches are applied by Jaguar’s SVO team rather than the end of the regular production line. You’ll find the 60th Anniversary logo has been used astutely throughout – from the embossed headrests and SV Bespoke treadplates to the aluminium centre console, inspired by the rear-view mirror in Series 1 E-type. A sophisticated SV Bespoke Commissioning Plaque sits between the Performance Seats as a reminder that this is one of just 60 unique creations. An elegant Monogram embroidery pattern adds an additional touch of class to the luxurious upper seating panels and door cards.
