Lunaz has unveiled a battery-powered version of the Aston Martin DB6. First deliveries of the new Aston Martin DB6 conversions are expected in the third quarter of 2023. The Silverstone-based company has also stated that electrified DB4s and DB5s will be built to order in highly limited numbers. In addition to the classic luxury cars, the company also delivered an electric conversion of the classic Range Rover last year. Lunaz has opened orders for a limited run of electric DB6, with prices starting at over $1 million (£733,000) before taxes.

“The rapid growth of Lunaz reflects the growing role that remanufacturing and electrification plays in plotting a sustainable course to a clean-air powertrain future. By furthering the legacies of these beautiful Aston Martins we create many more highly skilled jobs and expand our clean-technology production presence at our home in Silverstone, England,” said David Lorenz, Founder and CEO, Lunaz Group.

British electric vehicle conversion specialist Lunaz designs all mechanical parts in-house. The converted DB6 sacrifices its 4.0-litre straight-six engine for Lunaz’s modular 80-120kWh battery pack with a range of up to 255 miles. While specific performance values aren’t mentioned, the vehicle is likely to maintain similarities to the 80kWh system that was fitted to the firm’s Rolls-Royce Phantom V and Silver Cloud. The system is capable of producing 375bhp and 701 Nm of torque, leaving speculation that this car is likely to achieve similar figures.

The Lunaz Aston Martin DB6 will be available in both left- and right-hand drive. Inside the cabin, modern creature comforts including an infotainment screen and air conditioning are available as options. A driving range of approximately 410km between charges is claimed. It’s unclear what battery is in the vehicle, however previous Lunaz projects – including the Bentley Flying Spur and first-generation Range Rover – have drawn energy from an 80kWh lithium-ion pack. There is no more evocative GT car than the Aston Martin DB6. It presents an alluring marriage of fastback design, indulgent proportions and one of the most iconic shapes ever conceived in metal.
